1st Game

Red Sox vs. Yankees

Yes, the Red Sox played the Yankees this weekend. Only, this game wasn't televised and it wasn't at Fenway. Coop's first T-ball game was on Friday night and we got to see the little guy in action. He had his own little rooting section of his 4 sisters, mom and dad, and Uncle Kevy and Aunt Aslyn. Aslyn made a great sign that the girls proudly waived and yelled "Go Red Sox!" over and over again until we told them to go over to the other team's side and do their cheer. Rylie was loving the action, took part in the all-you-can-eat snack bar buffet (or so it seemed), and got a front row seat right behind home plate. #8 did a great job and all that practice paid off for our little man. He had some great hits and was all over the place in the field catching anything that came his way. In fact, he played left field, short stop, second base and first base all in one inning...basically wherever the ball went. He got a little dirty from sliding all over the place, and at the end of the night, he was wiped. His early bedtime made the last inning kind of rough but hopefully he will adjust. After the game he got to go in dad's truck to get a frosty and we talked about how important it is for the Red Sox to beat the Yankees. It was so much fun watching Coop and cheering him on for the first of many games to come. Go Red Sox!

What's a girl to do????

Rylie is such a wonderful little baby. She brings so much joy into our life. I just feel bad that I can't even do her hair. But honestly, she only has long hair right on the front part of her head. It always hangs, gets in the way, she pulls out whatever is in it. What can I do???

Prepping for the real game day!

Getting ready for game day!

So today is Cooper's first T-Ball game. I can't wait. He isn't so excited. See at practice the other night he was so tired. When it came time to run the bases, Cooper decided to walk them. He is pretty funny. They played a little fake game the other night and he was so much fun to watch. He went where ever the ball went even if he was furthest away. He is number 8 so I hope it is good luck for him. I guess he doesn't really need it, he just needs his Dads abilities when it comes to sports. We will see tonight!

Can't touch this!

Rylie is so funny. She loves tp be outside with her brother and sisters. But since she hasn't started walking, ( I really don't think she wants to, she probably is too scared with all her siblings around). Anyways, she does this funny army crawl. No it doesn't seem to bother her she just looks so cute.

Time goes so fast!

Wow! I can't believe how time flies. It seems like the older I get the faster things go. Life has been pretty busy and I just want some time to sit back and enjoy it. I was just thinking about it and my two babies are going to be turning one and two next month. Seriously where did a year go?

T-ball practice

T-Ball practice

So it was Cooper's second practice he is doing so great and having a ton of fun. He is so cute out there. His first game is next week so we are pretty excited. He is working on catching pop-flys, grounds and doing some batting practice. Out on the field he is such a fast runner, I am thinking we may need to look into soccer, too. But, by the end of practice he is wiped-out they all come home and go to bed so well. I finally have the older three busy with activities and I think life is nuts, what in the world am I going to do when all five want to be involved in sports?

Game night!!!

I love game night. I seriously look forward to it all week. In the Scott family I look at it as a tradition. Even before Ryan and I got married we had game nights over at his house. Things have changed a little, it is now at our house, but still so much fun. On Sunday night we have our friends Jim and Rosie, our family Kristy, Kevin and Aslyn come over for dinner, dessert and GAMES. After we get all the kids to sleep, (since it is Sunday night they go to sleep early because it will be a school morning). So then all of us grown-ups whip out the games. ( some are more excited then others) If you couldn't tell I really have fun playing games, we always love to play new ones, but we do have favorites. Pretty much Settlers, card games, Monopoly ( card game), phase 10, Scatagories, and the list goes on. I love how we all just have fun and get to spend time with each other. Life is so busy it is fun just to slow it down and enjoy it.

What a fun day!

What a day!! What a great day!!

Today was really such a great day! The best part was that we had Dad with us all day! The morning started off with Ryan letting me sleep later then normal. It is really great to get to wake up at 7 but lay in bed til 8. When all the kiddo's were getting dressed we decided to head for the Zoo. It was so fun. The Zoo is definitely one of the kids favorite places to go. We are planning on heading back next week. Cooper brought his bike so that was a hoot. He loves to fly down the hills with his legs up, not really watching were others are going. The girls love that they have a water play area. A new water area opened today and it was amazing, it has a cave and slide, who knew you could have so much fun at a zoo. But, poor little Ry was having such hard times, she has a diaper rash. I have actually never seen one so bad. She was miserable, and I am just bummed that they don't make diaper rash cream with something to numb the area. But we made it through the Zoo.
We were going to head home but instead we decided to stop at the 9/11 memorial sight. Since this past Thursday (9/11) I have been talking with the kids about what happened and we were looking at pictures. Before I decided to talk about it with the kids I really worried maybe it would scare them or maybe they are to little and don't need to know about it, but I am so grateful that I did decide to have a little learning night about it. Since then I really believe it has helped to teach them empathy. They are truly interested in the lives of the people that were lost. Just today when we were at the memorial, the kids were interested in finding the names and ages of those who passed away. Every flag that had a stuffed animal at the bottom was showing that it was a child that had died. Cooper was our finder for all the kids. As we were leaving it was really hard to believe how many lives were taken in such a small period of time. I hope that the feelings my kids felt today at the sight may stay with them and that they may remember how they felt.
We then headed to Costco. Yes, on a Saturday with five kids at lunch time. But really that is the best time. There are samples everywhere, we almost get filled up before we leave. It was fun, the kids love shopping there, and we do too. It is always nice to spend less then 6 bucks on a lunch to feed 7. Can't really get any better.
Then home sweet home. It was time for some naps, but like I said Rylie was really having a rough time. We had to get here taken care of and comfortable, she didn't even want to sit. She would get up on her hands and knees because her bottom hurt so bad.
But, tonight all is well the kids are sleeping, hopefully comfortably, and I just hope that another day like today won't be far away. It was so nice to be together as a family. All the silly cares in life really don't matter when we are all just having fun.

Happy Birthday, Sarah!

So, Sarah turned 25 again this last week (or so she tells the kids). We were fortunate to go with our good friends, Jim and Rosie, to Rocky Point, Mexico and take in a few relaxing days at the beach without any kids. Thank you Kristy, and Kevin and Aslyn for watching them and making our time away so enjoyable for them and us! Anyways, since our only pictures are from our phones and those ended up blurry, I have posted a few pics of the place we stayed at. It was a beautiful place and there were excellent views. For those of you who have been to Rocky Point, home of the skinny dogs, you know that the town itself is not so heavenly. Unfortunately, Sarah got hurt on her birthday when Manny Motorboat knocked us off the banana boat and Sarah's chin collided with my leg. Needless to say, Mexican pharmacies have all of our prescription drugs for sale but none of the over-the-counter stuff that is really needed. So, Sarah toughed it out (and still is) and we finished our trip this last Monday. That is one of the many things I love about Sarah, her toughness. When she was pregnant with Cooper she laid in bed so everyone could sleep in and we got to the hospital and she walked into the delivery room dilated to a 9! She also has a vibrant personality, loves to help others, is a wonderful mom and wife, a great cook, and is always thinking positive. She has a wonderful smile and I love to hear her laugh. Some of you may know that Sarah and I were best friends for a year before we started dating. Our first kiss came after we went out on my birthday (3 days before hers), and less than a year later I married my best friend. I was so in love with her that I had our song picked out before we even dated, Evan and Jaron's "Crazy for this Girl." Happy Birthday, Sarah!

September 11, 2001

This is truly I day I will never forget. I can so clearly remember laying in my bed, Ryan had just left for work. The phone rang, it was early in the morning so I wasn't really sure who it would be. I answered it, it was my mom, she said, " Sarah go turn on the T.V." that was really about it. So in my mind at this point I wasn't too sure what to think. There it was on all the news stations. A airplane had just hit one of the World Trade Centers. I couldn't believe it , I remember thinking oh man those building have got to be huge for a plane to accidentally hit one. Well as the time went on for the next couple of minutes I started to hear about how planes may have been hijacked and then BOOM!! As I was watching the T.V you could see the other airplane hit the second tower. Like most people I was sick to my stomach... what? how? why?what was going on? Like most I was glued to the T.V. all day.
I know that September 11th will be a day that we never forget. I hope we will always remember those who gave up theirs lives to help save others, for those who lost their lives just trying to live theirs, for those family and friends who lost such wonderful people. Most days in life I don't stop and just look at how great I have it. Most days, ( almost everyday) I look at what is wrong or what I don't have. I have started to really realize that things in my life will never be perfect, but when I am grateful and happy with what I have right in front of me each and everyday, life seems pretty good.

Thank you to all who have ever stood there to defend our country.

Teeth

Teeth

So a few months ago we finally got the kids in for some dental check-ups. Boy, let's just say, "Not so much fun." Maizie's appointment went well, at least she only had one cavity. For her that was a big plus. With Madilyn she had a mouthful. She has really tight teeth so the little cavity buggers, get jammed up. Then we got some bad news, her two front teeth had to get pulled out. See back in Oregon she had a cavity in her front tooth that they filled, but didn't get it all. So there was an infection above her teeth. I was worried that she was going to be so sad, but she was excited. So we went with it. Then comes little Coop ( or should I say my mini Jonas brother) he had to get TWO baby root canals, poor guy. He has super fragile teeth, any candy eats them up. So we are still working with him. Last but not least is Lillie. NO CAVITIES. She became a no cavity club member. The dentist has become a fun place for the kids, so I guess it all ended well.
